The Parks & Recreation Department is hosting the 55th Annual Quakertown Halloween Parade!

Business/ Organizations will need to provide the following information during Registration:
  • Theme/Name of Group
  • Contact Name, Email, & Phone Number
  • Parade Day Contact Information
  • Type of Group
  • Number of expected Participants
  • If your entry has vehicles: number of vehicles & total length of vehicles combined
  • Does your entry include music, animals, etc.
  • Short description of your theme or appearance to be read at the judges stand.

  • Business/Corporation: $60.00
  • Dignitary: $100.00
  • Non-Profit/Individual: $0.00
  • Vendor: $70.00

Parade Details
Date: Sunday, October 20
Parade will start forming at 12:30pm
Parade will begin promptly at 2:00pm
Route: Juniper St. from 3rd-11th ; 11th St. from Juniper to Broad; Broad St. from 11th to 3rd.

Registration Rules & Regulations
  • Parade Participants must complete a registration form on Quakertownrec.com
  • The contact person for each group is responsible for communicating all rules and regulations to each member of their group. Violation of these rules will result in immediate removal from the Parade and will not be permitted to participate in the following year's Parade.
  • All Entries must be family friendly and appropriate for all ages.
  • Any entries construed as a public hazard or likely to cause an unsafe condition will be denied.
  • Any entries that detract from the celebratory nature of the Parade will not be permitted to participate.
  • All Businesses and organizations must provide the Borough with signed Liability Waiver & Release forms for all participants.
  • All Business and formal organizations must provide a Certificate of Insurance listing the Borough of Quakertown as additional insured for the duration of the event.

Parade Safety Rules & Regulations
  • All entries must complete the entire parade route.
  • Participants are not permitted to throw candy. Those passing out candy MUST walk along side of the road and pass the candy out.
  • In case of an emergency, all participants shall move to the right side of the street.
  • There will be absolutely no stopping in front of the judge's stand or at any place along the parade route.
  • Explosives, fireworks, or any other exploding devices are not permitted.
  • Open flames are not permitted.
  • Participating groups must have appropriate supervision of children in the parade with a ratio of at least 1:10. Groups are fully responsible for all minor children.
  • Participating groups must adhere to PA’s Child Protective Services Law with appropriate clearances for all chaperones.
  • All decorations and props must be securely attached and pose no risk to participants or spectators.

Vehicle, Floats, & Animal Rules & Regulations
  • Any motorized vehicle required by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to be inspected must have a current inspection sticker and registration card.
  • Only valid licensed drivers shall operate any motorized vehicle being operated along the Parade route.
  • Registration, Insurance, and Drivers’ Licenses must be available upon request of any Parade Official.
  • Vehicles and floats must not exceed 13’ high
  • Floats must have adequate brake systems.
  • Extra or auxiliary compressed gas cylinders or fuel containers on vehicles or floats is not permitted.
  • All groups with animals must supply adequate clean-up crew.
  • All groups with animals are responsible for immediately cleaning up after their animals if they make a mess along the parade route.
  • All groups with animals must demonstrate full control over their animals at all times. Dogs must be on leashes, and horses should be properly bridled and led by experienced handlers.
  • Costumes or decorations for animals must be safe, comfortable, and non-restrictive. They should not impair the animal’s movement, vision, or breathing.
  • All groups with animals should be mindful of loud noises, music, or other disturbances that may startle or stress animals.

Additional Rules & Regulations
  • Alcoholic Beverages are prohibited.
  • Smoking and Vaping by participants is prohibited.
  • Parade officials may be located along the Parade route to enforce the rules and regulations. The parade regulations must be followed at all times. Parade officials have the right to remove participants if found not following the rules.
  • Participants who plan to use music or sound systems must comply with the local noise ordinances and ensure that the volume levels are appropriate for the event.
  • Participants are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and appropriate manner throughout the parade, refraining from offensive language, gestures, or behavior that could detract from the family-friendly atmosphere.
